Emile Aarts spoke at PicNic Crossmedia week and today at the Philips High Tech Campus. The Mission of Philips is to improve the quality of people’s life through meaningful technological applications.Philips focuses on Healthcare, Lifestyle and Technological innovation.

Trends are observed in 1.Technology, 2.Economics and 3.Societal developments

In technology there is more of more, large area electronics and system in package.

In economics there is globalisation, experience economy and the transformation to the creative industries . In society there is freedom, expression and care.

Not be dominant is important, crucial is complementory competences. The ambient technology is brought to the 6th framework of EU projects. Phillips understands that to bring ambient intelligence further ahead one has to coƶperate in open innovation and value networks.Philips founded The Innovation Centre for Experience Applications, focus is on application research as; the homelab, the carelab(experience in healthcare), the shoplab(the future of retail) and the hospitality lab.For this last application Philips founded with several partners as the design academy, NH Hoteles teh Creative Conversion Factory. We are impressed with the focus and co-creation route that Philips is taking.
