Don’t talk about it but do it. The door is opened by a touch of my fingerprint. Electronic touch screens on the wall, easy to discuss your website or log, or any other issues, lots of space, brighty modern colours, big tables to work on, a little corner to do the morning kick off (morning prayer). The toilet door is transparant, as you close the door it becomes intransparant for privacy and in the mirror you see the latest news and teletext. I was thrilled today being a guest at Freedomlab. Freedomlab works close together with EE and 2 Yellows provides us with this interactive website. If your are creative and innovative your office better be it too! Good example of an experience environment setting the culture.

Last week I visited an exposition in ARCAM, Amsterdam, on the influence advertising has on the city (‘the city’ in this case being Amsterdam) and the influence the city has on advertising (you can visit it yourself until the 27th of this month). In this very small exposition, media and advertising agencies give their opinion on the (desired) role of advertising in the city. Besides the obvious attention given to opportunities using Google Earth, there was one other thing that got me thinking: the attention these agencies seem to pay to their role in the community.

Screenculture is a world of constant flux, of endless sound bites, quick cuts and half baked ideas. It is a flow of gossip tidbits, news headlines and floating first impressions. Notions do not stand alone but are massively interlinked to everything else. Prof Greenfield will speak about the effects of screen culture on our braindevelopment. What she calls the personalisation of our brain. We are born with almost all our brain cells. The connections between cells accounts for growth of brain and they reflect experiences.More info & register Greenfield 2006_def_2006.pdf
We invited Prof. Greenfield for the very reason that the new generation develops their own litteracy in relationship to the digital world and it is important to obtain insight what the effects are on this generation and what motivates them in order to know how to relate to them.(related subjects new literacy and Einstein generation)
