The lecture that stood out for me most(although this is very difficult to say with so many inspiring lecturers) was the introduction by Stefan Sagmeister. He started his lecture by saying that he wanted a year off to get away from the usual assignments and to dive into his real creativity. So they closed their office for a year. The first thing that happened to him is that he received an open assignment of a magazine to design 12 blank pages. His presentation was structured around their new work and “Things I have learned in my life so far.” Stefan showed recent work which you can watch on http://www.sagmeister.com/worknew12.html. Why this work had such an impact on me? First of all Stefan had the mental courage to change his daily work and created a complete new context where new things could happen to him. He has a competence to change contexts where the message comes very well across in an unusual way.Next Pinc Conference 20th of May 2008, make sure you will not miss it.www.pinc.nl Read more about lessons learned.

Value Creation through meaningfull experience
Castell D’emporda Barcelona (Girona Spain) 2007
VALUE CREATION THROUGH EXPERIENCES In 5 days – from the 16th to 21th April 2007 I joined a very usefull cource – Value Creation trough meaningfull experience – set up by European Center for Experience Economy. I worked my own businesscase - a strategy and action plan for a creative industries economy in Central Denmark Region – wich was brought miles forvard trough 9 guestlecturers, 10 other businesscases and realy good personal coatching. The composition of the cource, the woorkinggroups and the invironment around the cource was unik, usefull and very pleasant. The metod of learning by sharing together with other executives and practitioners from many countries funktioned very well and this is a metode that will be used in Central Denmark Region in differrent projects in the future.
Kind regards

Today we received the new book of Hans van der Loo, Jeroen Geelhoud and Salem Samhoud about how to awaken organisations, how to make them more energetic, and effective. With lots of pleasure we see that the Prenatal businesscase( Petra Brussen lectured at our networking meeting last year) has been used as an opening case of vitalising an organisation by a clear vision. The authors also used the competing values framework of Rober Quinn as a model for assesment of culture. The refreshing concept of a meaningful organisation is being introduced. As soon as we have read the book we will come with a complete review. Recommended!

Most of the research that is currently being done in this area is focused on examples of this new experience economy. Fundamental research about what exactly experiences are and what their value is for companies and customers alike, is however lacking. In this research project the discussion about experiences is clarified by explaining the one-sidedness within the literature on experiences and by constructing a conceptual model in which various potential views of experience are taken into account. This leads to an answer to the question: How can the contemporary one-sidedness within literature on the experience economy be solved?

I have been lecturing the 10th of May in Copenhagen for Short Cut, a conference for Huse i Danmark and the European Organisation of Cultural houses ENCC. I was pleasantly surprised by the receptiveness of the public and the enthusiasm about our approach to the experience economy. I spoke with Rolf Jensen(Dream Society) and we discussed the state of the experience economy in Denmark. We planned to organise a summit for the Experience Economy, where all pioneers in the field will share their ideas together of how we believe that Xp EC is developing. Also had an very inspiring discussion with Uffe Aelback who is now director of the World Outgames. We discussed a possible role of our Centre to evaluate the games. Also spoke with Bjarne Rasmussen ( Coordinator of Sustainable Zealand Region) and Soren Sorensen about developments in the field of tourism and experience economy. Jis Jensen teaches at the University of Roskilde (experience management) and we will explore ways together how to cooperate and share knowledge. The very good news is that Jorn Christansen, (Projektleder Innovation og Forskning Regional Udvikling
Region Midtjylland) participant in our executive course in Barcelona , succeeded in getting the funds together to raise a Centre for the Experience Economy in his region which will be founded in Aarhuus.
